El Yunque National Forest is one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic natural landmarks and the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Located less than an hour from San Juan, it offers waterfalls, hiking trails, and one of the Caribbean's most biologically diverse ecosystems. There are plenty of tour group options that leave right from San Juan.
