We recommend beach attire with light, breathable fabrics to stay comfortable by the ocean. Sundresses, flowy skirts, and linen sets are great options. For men, think linen pants or chinos, dressy shorts, and button-up or aloha shirts. Both long and short styles are welcome, so wear what feels best. Colors and prints are encouraged, from soft neutrals to tropical patterns. Feel free to dress it up or keep it casual. Please avoid heels, as the ceremony and reception will be on sand. Flat sandals, wedges, or barefoot-friendly shoes are best. A light sweater or shawl may be nice as the evening cools. We expect it to be around 85°F, sunny, and humid at the start of the ceremony, cooling to about 73°F into the night, with hopefully a gentle coastal breeze.
We kindly invite you to join us for an unplugged ceremony. Please turn off phones and cameras and be fully present with us in the moment. Our photographer will be capturing everything, and we’ll be happy to share those photos with you afterward. Thank you for helping us keep the ceremony feeling intimate and focused in such a beautiful natural setting. Once the sun goes down and the photographer leaves, feel free to help us document the night!
Please plan to arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 pm so you have time to get seated and settled. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:15 pm. Afterward, we’ll move into cocktail hour and enjoy the sunset together. We’ll step away briefly for some family and couple photos, then rejoin the celebration. In the meantime, make yourself comfortable, grab a drink, mingle, and enjoy the games. We can’t wait to join you on the dance floor as the sun goes down.
Our celebration will be held at the Oceanfront Grounds at Kona Salt in Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi.
Transportation is not provided. We recommend renting a car to explore the island and get to the venue easily which is located about 20 minutes from Downtown Kona. There is ample parking at the venue. If you are renting a car, prepare to do this well in advance as rental car companies have been reaching capacity lately.
We will be serving a buffet-style dinner inspired by local Hawaiian cuisine and fresh island seafood, along with a vegan option and a variety of signature sides. A wide assortment of dishes will be available for everyone to enjoy beginning at 7:00 pm.
Yes! We’ll be serving two signature cocktails, along with beer, wine, cider, seltzer and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the evening.
Expect a relaxed oceanfront evening with dinner, dancing, a fire pit, games in the sand, and space to explore the tidepools. We encourage you to kick off your shoes and enjoy the night.
Yes, the entire celebration will be outdoors on the beach and oceanfront grounds, so please dress accordingly. Our ceremony and reception will take place in the evening, from 5:15–10:00pm, when Kona is typically warm, breezy, and incredibly comfortable. In late October, evening temperatures are usually around 73–85°F, gradually cooling slightly after sunset. You can expect ocean breezes, beautiful golden-hour light during the ceremony, and a warm tropical night under the stars. Because we are right on the ocean, it can feel a bit cooler once the sun goes down, so we recommend light, breathable clothing and perhaps a light wrap or layer for later in the evening if you tend to get chilly.
Please let us know on your RSVP form so we can do our best to accommodate you.
Plus ones are included only if noted on your invitation.
