Our Story
Not many know this, but our story began in a Facebook group called MeetJew during the COVID-19 pandemic. One day, a mutual friend of ours (thanks Ben!) posted a bio for Jacob in this group, and it happened to catch Abby's eye. She decided to message him hoping that they would bond over their mutual loves of cooking, travel, and baseball, as well as their shared experience of running a student-led minyan at their respective Hillels - and she was right. While we were just online friends at the time, that all changed when Abby moved to DC to attend grad school at Georgetown in 2021.
In DC, we had the opportunity to spend time together in-person. From spending Shabbat mornings together in "pod" seating at DC Minyan to going to Nats games, we gradually learned that we wanted a romantic relationship too. Almost 4 years later, we want to celebrate our decision to build our lives together with all our loved ones in the city where our relationship has flourished.
