Abby, originally from Oregon, and Garrett, originally from California, both attended the University of Washington in Seattle. They met during their freshman year in 2017 when a mutual friend in their organic chemistry class introduced them. Garrett and Abby joined the same study group, and eventually started spending time together one-on-one outside of classes and study sessions. They both graduated with their bachelor’s degrees in the spring of 2021. After graduating, Garrett and Abby stayed in Seattle for a year while both working remote jobs. In the summer of 2022, Abby took a new job that required her to move back to her hometown of Hillsboro, Oregon. Garrett relocated to Hillsboro as well, where he and Abby adopted two kittens. Garrett proposed to Abby on Sauvie Island with his great-great-grandmother's wedding ring which was salvaged from his family home lost in the Camp Fire. Garrett and Abby would like to thank all of their family and friends for the incredible support they have received and are excited to celebrate their wedding on March 18, 2023.
