Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Abby Sessock and Brett LeBlanc
We love exploring, especially in different parts of Vermont. Woodstock and the surrounding area is one of our favorites. Downtown, there are lots of great restaurants and shops and nearby, the roads are great for cycling.
Quechee Gorge

Quechee Gorge

Hartford, VT 05001

Known as "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon", the gorge is 165 feet deep. There is a lot of road construction happening in this area. Viewing from the bridge is limited. You may park at the visitors center and still hike down to the gorge.

VINS Nature Center

VINS Nature Center

149 Natures Way, Hartford, VT 05059

Also our wedding venue, VINS (Vermont Institute of Natural Science) is a beautiful and educational attraction in the area. Dedicated to the rehabilitation of hawks, eagles, etc. and offering a forest canopy walk that shows some of the best views of the Ottauquechee River, there's a lot to explore here. If you haven't been yet, suggesting to come here for an hour or two outside of our wedding (both the forest canopy walk and the bird enclosures will not be open during our wedding reception). If you choose to come for an hour or two prior to our ceremony starting, be sure to bring sensible shoes (heels aren't allowed on the canopy walk). The place is open to the public until 5:00 p.m. daily. *This photo is from 2023 when we brought the kids here, not knowing it would one day be our wedding venue.

Artisans Park

Artisans Park

Artisans Way, Windsor, VT 05089

A distillery, brewery, cheese company, and more local businesses have established shop in this park. Head into Great River Outfitters to rent a kayak or tube to float down the river, or buy your pass to the Path of Life Sculpture Garden, an illustration of the human life (highly recommend this experience!)

Billings Farm & Museum

69 Old River Road, Woodstock, VT 05091

This is a working farm with a long history that allows you to travel back to the 1890's. The farm has animals, trails, wagon rides, ice cream scoop shop, museum, and more. Abby took field trips here as a kid.

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park

69 Old River Road, Woodstock, VT 05091

Vermont's only National Park and just across the road from Billings Farm -- worth a visit to both if you're interested in the history of the area and walking trails.

Simon Pearce

1760 Quechee Main Street, Hartford, VT 05059

A glassblowing shop where you can watch artisans at work. This location in Quechee is their flagship store where they also have a restaurant sitting over the Ottauchechee River. If coming from Woodstock, you'll drive through a beautiful covered bridge to get here.

Downtown Woodstock

Woodstock, VT

Park and stroll through town, stopping in local artisan shops and enjoying the quaint charm of this small town. Some great stops in town are: *Middle Covered Bridge *The Woodstock Gallery *Santé restaurant *Splendid Bakes

Hiking/Mountain Biking Trails

Visit the Aqueduct trails or Mt. Peg trails. Saskadena Six is a small ski area that also has hiking and mountain biking trails in the summer.

Gravel Bike Ride

Gravel Bike Ride

This was such a fun route! Highly recommend if you're spending some time in the area. Also, plenty of options to alternate it -- just ask and we'd be happy to route something for you in the area.
