Question

Will the wedding be inside or outside?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will be outside in the botanical gardens behind the conservatory. If weather permits, the ceremony will be held in front of the garden fountain and cocktail hour will take place in the gardens. The reception will be under cover. If it rains (fingers crossed that it does not!), the ceremony and reception will be held under the tent. Please bring a sweater if it gets chilly, but we'll keep you warm on the dance floor!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We recommend that guests dress in cocktail attire. Feel free to play with colors, prints, fabrics because we will be in the garden. You're welcome to lose the shoes, ties, and jackets on the dance floor!

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the Hyatt House Pittsburgh/Bloomfield/Shadyside, which is less than a 10 minute drive from the wedding venue. There are also affordable hotels and AirBnBs downtown and in the surrounding neighborhoods, especially Shadyside, Oakland, or East Liberty. We recommend staying at the Oaklander or Hilton Garden Inn, which are both <5 minute drive to the ceremony/reception space (15-20 minutes walking). The Kimpton Hotel downtown is also beautiful and dog friendly. Driving in Pittsburgh can be confusing, so we recommend staying nearby and ride-sharing/carpooling.
