Twilight Food Tour(s) in the Trastevere Neighborhood. Such a vibrant neighborhood with great day life, night life, so much food, drinks and music. This tour did not disappoint and was a 'great first day of travel' activity to get accommodated to the city and not have to worry about where to eat.
When in Rome, take a trip to the Vatican Museum & see the Sistine Chapel. Highly encourage you to book tickets ahead of time, using the link. The lines can be so long! The earlier the better. We went first thing in the morning and had the whole place to ourselves.
Booking a tour to see the Colosseum is absolutely worth it! You can use whatever tour company suits what you're looking for, but book it. You'll be able to skip the INCREDIBLY long lines, and get an inside look and history to the gorgeous monument.
I've never had bad luck (knock on wood) with using Get Your Guide to find a tour. From walking tours, food tours, charter busses, bike tours, etc. Need something to do? Search here.
I've used Fat Tire Tours in Barcelona, Paris, and Rome. All were incredible! For those traveling Italy specifically, they offer tours in Milan, Rome, and Florence. Each guide has to have extensive experience and the tours don't disappoint.
When in Italy, why not learn to make pasta? We took this class when we visited Florence, and it was one of the best things we could have done!
Take a lap around the market. Buy something for a quick (delicious) meal or some snacks for later.
