The Wedding Website of Abigail Stratton and Evan Cheng
Abbi and Evan met on Hinge in 2023, with Evan making the first move, commenting on a photo of Abbi from the Philly Marathon—having just run the Philly half weeks earlier. Little did he know, his off-the-couch half and Abbi's GPS-watch-free, Boston Marathon-qualifying run fueled with nothing but trail mix and vibes had little in common, but it was enough for a first date. Unlike prior dates, Evan struck Abbi as “not boring,” while she left an impression as cute, nerdy, and a lover of food. To prove he had no major red flags, Evan planned a pickleball double date with friends. Abbi, however, put his will to the test, dragging him on a six-mile Central Park run at a brisk 8:35 pace while having a full blown conversation about their childhoods. The day ended with deep conversations fueled by bagels and lactate, marking a pivotal day in their budding relationship. They quickly fell in love, got engaged, and are now eager to begin their next chapter as one.

Abbi Stratton

Bride

Evan Cheng

Groom

Heather Stratton

Maid of Honor

Not to be mistaken for a raccoon, Heather’s strategic planning and ability to make whomever is in the room laugh and feel welcomed makes her the perfect person to care for the bride on the big day. Abbi’s life in NYC brightened when Heather moved to the city and started sharing her humorous stories from the street (Wall Street, that is) of turduckens and umbrella thieves during family dinner night. Watch for Heather’s first book on the shelves in the next ten years, with surely a chapter with the inside scoop of the most exciting parts of this wedding.

Daniel Munt

Best Man

A decade-long friend of the groom, Dan and Evan first met at Hoboken Grace in 2015. Evan's initial impression of Dan was of a tall guy from the south who walked and talked slow. They found common ground in their love of board games, spike ball, and beer, though they despise each other's taste in music taste and sense of humor. Despite their differences, it’s those contrasts that make their friendship so special. Dan's huge heart and empathy often bring out the best in Evan.

Leah Clay

Bridesmaid

Former roommate and current sister, Leah is the one who convinced and paved the way for Abbi to move to NYC, which allowed Abbi and Evan to meet. Leah and her husband’s hospitality goes above and beyond, welcoming them at least weekly to family meals that create a feeling of home and stability in a transient and bustling city. The soon to be married couple cannot wait to live just a block down the road from Leah, her husband, and their two daughters.

Ryan Cheng

Groomsman

Brother of the groom, Ryan and Evan have been rivals since birth—enemies at times, but always family. In adulthood, they've grown much closer, bonding over nerding out about science and endurance sports. Ryan currently resides in London with his wife, Kelly, working full-time as a fruit fly scientist and part-time as a cyclist.

Elise Bush

Bridesmaid

The other middle sister of the Strattons, it wasn’t until Elise’s visit to NYC that Abbi was convinced to join Hinge. Having Elise’s approval is as affirming as getting a smiley face on your high-stakes AP English essay, and so with Elise’s guidance of which photos to put on Abbi’s profile, it was only a matter of time before Abbi would meet her future husband. When Elise is not busy asking the proud Aunt Abbi what the name of some obscure shape on behalf of her son Peter or making sure smiling Kenny doesn’t walk off with a stranger, you can find her reading a book she will surely recommend to Abbi or in the kitchen making various flavors of macaroons. Look for them for sale someday!

Timothy Le

Groomsman

Of his 14 cousins, Timmy was the closest to Evan in both age and interests. Their bond grew over years of summer camp adventures and many late-night Always Sunny marathons fueled by Yuengling and Crown Fried Chicken during their college years. These days, most of their communication happens through rage texts during Eagles games. When he's not busy taking care of patients as a nurse in Philly, you can find Timmy walking his two dogs with his wife, Kelly, or at Mitchell & Ness, offloading his paycheck on the latest Eagles gear.

Avalon Hart

Bridesmaid

Younger sister, family artist, and environmental engineer in training, Avalon has been the encouraging, loving, adventurous, and genuine heart in the family. Always down for anything, Avalon and Abbi have spent some lovely times hiking in snake infested lands, camping near caves, and exploring Kansas. When Avalon’s not busy studying science or making sure Denver’s precious water hasn’t been infiltrated with invisible dangerous molecules, you can find Avalon whipping up the next craft or art project that according to her is “just ok” but turns out to be Abbi’s most beloved items. Look for Avalon on the signature of pricey artwork in the future.

Peter Bush

Ring Bearer

Shape enthusiast and nephew of the bride, Peter’s mathematical knowledge makes him the perfect man to walk the torus-shaped objects, or in Abbi’s case a mobius-shaped object, down the aisle.

Arisa Faron

Bridesmaid

Friend and adventure buddy, Arisa has been true through thick and thin for the most pivotal years of Abbi’s NYC existence. Hinge supporter, running buddy, outdoor enthusiast, and a listening ear, Arisa is the one who knows all the ins and outs of people, hosting events, how to make people smile, and of course giving medical advice. Having relieved Abbi from ear infections and more, this PA is the perfect, prepared person to stand and witness and support the union of Abbi and Evan.

Kenny Bush

Ring Bearer

The charmer and ham of the cousins, Kenny is sure to be caught doing his job of smiling as he walks down the aisle next to his brother when he sees the people he loves.

Eleanor Clay

Flower Girl

Girl with the crazy curls, niece to the bride, and proud big sister to flower girl #2, NorNor will most certainly give 110% to fulfilling her duties of being cute, walking in a straight line, and per chance, scattering some petals along the way. Favorite food: Pasta. Favorite song: Take me out to the ball game/Fly, Eagles fly. Favorite Uncle: Hopefully Evan, but the competition is stiff.

Louisa Clay

Flower Girl

Like a younger sibling with a disconnected controller, Zaza has no clue what she'll be doing but is simply thrilled to be included. Rest assured, big sister Eleanor will be by her side, holding her hand and showing her the ropes. Qualifications: Walking for 5 months. Smiling for 16 months. Adorableness: Off the charts!
