Yes, we met on Tinder. Our first date, I dragged him to Lawrence for Meddeteranian at Aladdin’s. When we were finished, we still had more to talk about so we walked down to Java Break, ordered coffee and played a board game. From day one he’s been up for anything.
After our first date, we spent a week apart while I was traveling and I think by the time I got back, Clifton was head-over-heels in love with me. We spent hours together the next time we met and we haven’t been apart since.
I was a little more cautious when it came to falling, but Clifton made me anyway. By the time our birthdays rolled around and Clifton spent the day with me in Kansas City, I knew I had found a partner. By the time we went on our first vacation through several national parks, I knew I had found my life partner.
We bought a house! It wasn’t exactly how we had planned it, but it worked out perfectly in the end. We were talking about needing to find a new place for us to live once our leases were up. After a short search through rentals, I found a few houses for sale as well. An agent contacted me that day and showed me the house of my dreams, so we bought it. We love living in College Hill.
I actually signed for my own ring. The delivery person came to Cliff’s apartment door and I was the only one home, so I took it and set it on his desk. I happened to be clueless at that point. I was so focused on buying our house that getting married was not on the agenda. After getting the ring later than he wanted Clifton SURPRISED me with a beautiful ring at the start of the New Year.
