Patrick says "Kim and I met in Microbiology class at North Seattle College. I had just moved to Seattle and did not know anyone and I would sit in the back of class alone like a lone weirdo. But I would always notice Kim sitting in the middle of the class and stare at her, like a lone weirdo. One day she finally came up to me to borrow something for a lab we had, and I think I just stared at her and handed her the tool. Luckily though, I got a second chance to make a good first impression when we reconnected months later, and the rest is history." Kim says "I remember I was working at Starbucks and I was taking my first ten minute break when I saw that I got a message from Patrick on a dating site that I was on. All it said was 'Hey' which I found really unimpressive at the time, but for some reason I decided to message him back (I blame it on the early hour and lack of caffeine in my system at the time). Throughout the one ten minute break we had realized from messaging back and forth that we went to the same school, were both taking prerequisites for the nursing program, and that we coincidentally had taken the SAME microbiology class together just a quarter before. We went through the hoops of 'so are we boyfriend-girlfriend now?', living in a studio apartment, graduating school and getting our first nursing jobs, getting engaged, working through a pandemic, and now here we are over 5 years later."
