Aarshika & Joey met at their alma mater George Mason University through Greek life in the early fall of 2014. Aarshika saw Joey walking across campus (literally) from her Northern Neck apartment and said "oh he's cute!" and the rest is history... (if only love stories were that easy!) But being someone who goes after what she wants Aarshika recruited her best friends and laid out a plan. She went to as many intramural sports game as possible because Joey was Sports Chair for his fraternity. His Groomsman Connor & Vijay were privy of this plan so they helped her out and introduced them. An invite to the infamous Northern Neck apartment one night after an intramural game ended up in Joey & Aarshika exchanging numbers and adding each other on snapchat. After texting back & forth for a few days, they went on their first date to Manhattan Pizza on campus where Aarshika got a salad (LOL), and Joey tried his first PSL at Starbucks!!! More texting, JC study dates, parties, sorority & fraternity formals later, Joey finally popped the question & asked Aarshika out. Post college, Joey went off for Capitol Police training and when he returned they moved into their first apartment together, traveled (Joey went on his first international trip to Nepal), and eventually got their pup, Avery (if you know Joey & Aarshika, you know Avery). They moved to their second apartment together, excited to live above a metro so Aarshika's DC commute would be seamless, but then COVID hit... and she did not have to use the metro. Living & working in a one bedroom apartment with a pup and an annoying downstairs neighbor who had it out for them, pushed them to start house hunting. In March 2021, they bought their first house together and now enjoy renovating and sprucing up their home, and loving their suburban lifestyle. The two love traveling (Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Boston, Colorado, Nepal, Barcelona, Lisbon), watching Survivor, going to the movies, hiking, taking Avery on adventures (Colorado road trip!!!), and working out together at F45. They're both very excited to celebrate their long awaited wedding (ahem, Joey!) with their friends and family who have travelled from near and far.
