Wedding Party

Philip Bolger

Best Man

Phil and Aaron met as cadets at West Point, where they eventually became roommates and committed, heterosexual life partners. From intense arguments over minor historical details no one else cares about, to long-distance gaming sessions via Skype, their friendship may look strange from the outside, but they wouldn't change a thing. Phil is a strategic wargamer at the Pentagon, and lives in Alexandria, VA with his fiancee, Vikky.

Mariah Jensen

Maid of Honor

Mariah and Nora have been best friends since 2015 when they met in Cedar Falls, IA. They even lived together for two years when they packed up and headed north to Minneapolis in June of 2016--where Mariah still lives. Mariah is happy to tell anyone that she is "the Joey to Nora's Chandler."

Joshua Haskins

Groomsman

Josh is Aaron's older brother--or, as Aaron likes to say, the prototype for which Aaron's the perfected model. He's an Army officer, and currently lives in Japan with his wife, Anna.

Katie Marshall

Bridesmaid

Katie and Nora met in their first semester of freshman year at The University of Northern Iowa. She currently lives in Marion, IA with her husband, Adam, where she works as a pre-school teacher. She is the mother of Nora's "college family" as well as the ring bearer, Abel Marshall.

Adam Gittleman

Groomsman

Aaron and Adam met as cadets at West Point, where they enjoyed Friday night cocktails at the Officer's Club and Wednesday night poker games. They were then neighbors and served in the same Brigade at Fort Hood before Aaron got out of the Army. Adam now lives in Alaska, where he's a lawyer in the Army's Judge Advocate General Corps.

Liz Jones

Bridesmaid

Each originally from different cities in Iowa, Nora and Liz met while traveling around Europe in 2010 with the Midwest American Honor Choir. The two remained friends only via Facebook as they finished high school separately, and went on to graduate from different Iowan Universities. After nearly 10 years apart, the two found themselves living near each other in Michigan, and were each equally surprised and excited to find that they still had so much in common. Since reconnecting, Liz has moved back to Iowa, but she is currently expecting to move to Florida with her husband, Josh, and three children, Hunter, Amelia, and Owen.

Trent Weekes

Groomsman

Trent and Aaron were roommates at West Point, until their last semester when their company leadership team decided they were "bad influences on each other" and forced to split up. They were later neighbors at Fort Hood before Aaron got out of the Army. Trent is still an Army officer, and is stationed at Fort Benning with his wife, Mathilda.

Ami Jensen

Bridesmaid

Ami and Nora met in college and became close friends while both were living and working in Minneapolis. Ami is also a cousin to the Maid of Honnor, Mariah. She currently lives in Plymouth, MN and works in downtown Minneapolis as a Designer at Swervo Development Corporation.

Philip Wohlrab

Groomsman

Aaron met Phil, or "Doc," as his friends call him, at Dragon Con in 2013, and they've been friends ever since. Doc is a strategic wargamer at the Pentagon, and lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his cat, Gerhardt. Yes, both Phils live in Alexandria and have the same job.

Matthew Ivanovich

Groomsman

Matt and Aaron met as cadets at West Point. They were already close friends before they got in trouble for underage drinking, but the many hours spent trying to pass the time while walking the resulting punishment hours in Central Area cemented their bond. Matt lives in Dallas, Texas, where he works in the banking industry.

Abel Marshall

Ring Bearer

Abel is 3 years old. He is the son of Nora's bridesmaid, Katie, and affectionately refers to the bride as 'Aunt Nora.' He likes Mickey Mouse and music! He is excited for dancing at the reception. Parents, Katie and Adam say, "You’ll never see Abel without food!”

Geneva Kurth

Flower Girl

'Neva' is 3 years old, and Nora's only niece. She likes Minnie Mouse, playing with her babies, and chasing her 3 older brothers around the house, generally causing everyone to erupt in giggles. She loves dressing up pretty; and she is so excited to see her Aunt Nora looking like a princess too.

Jack Clemons

Toastmaster

Jack and Aaron became friends sometime in 2014 when they realized they were both at the center of the Venn Diagram formed by their "sci fi nerds" and "firearms hobbyists" groups of mutual friends. Nora bonded with Jack over similar musical interests after moving to Michigan, on a road trip to Chattanooga. Jack's friends are pretty sure he's not-too-distantly descended from a Frost Giant. He lives in Michigan, where he works in social media marketing for the firearms industry.

Jada Kurth

Hand of the Bride

For those of you who were not GOT fans, and are unfamiliar with this position---Jada will act as Nora's eyes & ears, as well as answer any questions pertaining to the event on Nora's behalf throughout the day of the wedding. Jada is Nora's eldest sister, and mother to the flower girl, Geneva. She is married to husband, Joe Kurth, and along with Geneva, the two also share 3 sons : Hayden, Elliott, and Pierce. They currently live in Sioux City, IA where she works as a general dentist with Family First Dental.
