The Wedding Website of Shannon Maloney and Aaron Stubbings
For our guests flying in, there are two cities nearby with airports that you can fly into: Toronto, ON For the Aussies and those who are travelling longer haul, Toronto is the closest major airport to Niagara-on-the-Lake and will have direct flights from many destinations within Canada and the USA. From Toronto, there are train and bus options to get to the Niagara region, otherwise car rentals are easy - just remember, we drive on the right-hand side of the road. Buffalo, NY This is an option for those flying within the USA and interested in travelling only to the Niagara region. You can cross the border by land, and, depending on border crossing times, should only take around an hour or so to get to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Flying into Buffalo or Toronto will yield about the same driving time from the airport to Niagara-on-the-Lake so both are great options.

Travel Note

Where to stay

As close as possible to the old town of Niagara-on-the-Lake - NOT to be confused with the town of Niagara Falls (30 mins drive south), and although the river is pretty narrow it is still the border between Canada & the USA, so please make sure you're in Ontario and not New York. There are plenty of hotels, bed & breakfasts, inns, and house rentals in and around town, and something for every budget and group size. If possible, at least a few days in Niagara-on-the-Lake would be ideal, with a quick trip to the Falls to get out on the Hornblower Cruise (but not much more than that), bouncing between wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake (our favourite way to go is by bike with plenty of rental places), and enjoying the town and lakeshore.
