Flight

Austin–Bergstrom International Airport

For most people, flying into ABIA is the easiest option. From there, you can either rent a car, take a taxi, or use local ride-share options such as Uber or Lyft which leave from a designated ground transportation bay. Keep in mind that if you're flying a budget airline like Allegiant or Frontier, it will depart / arrive at the South Terminal which is in a separate building 20 minutes away from the main airport.

House Or Rental

AirBnB / Vrbo

There are many AirBnB and Vrbo options throughout Austin. Our wedding venue, the Union on 8th, is in Georgetown which is just north of Austin. We encourage people to stay in or near the Domain (where we live(d)) if you want to be in a more walkable area that is more or less equidistant to the venue and to downtown. the neighborhood. If you don't have have a accounts for these sites, you can use these invitation links to join: https://www.airbnb.com/c/shanikah1?currency=USD

Getting around

Austin is not the most public transit-oriented city. To us, this is the one major downfall our east-coast living, urban planner hearts had to get over. Despite this massive oversight, ATX is an amazing place and we hope you will get to know & love it as much as we do! To make the most of your time here, we recommend renting a car. There are many budget-friendly companies available throughout the city. There are many rideshare options like Uber, Lyft, Ride Austin, and Wingz. From the Domain to the Union, rides cost ~$30, on average. From the Domain to downtown Austin, rides are $10-30 depending on where / when you're going. The train / bus networks are along the central spine of the city but have strange hours - you can find out their schedules here: https://www.capmetro.org/schedmap/. If you want to partner with others coming to the wedding to cut costs, emissions & enjoy adventuring together (see our map), let us know. We can help connect you with other friends and family!

Hotel

Hotels

There are several accommodations options in Georgetown and in Austin that would be great places to stay. We recommend staying close to the Domain in North Austin, rather than in Georgetown (where the venue is) so that you can spend some time during your stay exploring Austin's various neighbourhoods. Here are some options: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Austin Near The Domain Fairfield Inn & Suites Austin Northwest/The Domain Area Aloft Austin at The Domain Archer Hotel Austin The Westin Austin at The Domain Home2 Suites by Hilton Austin North/Near the Domain Residence Inn by Marriott Austin Northwest/The Domain Area Lone Star Court If you'd rather stay by the venue, The Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Best Western, and The Sheraton sit about half a mile away on the Interstate.
