FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Irish wedding attire! For our non-Irish (or English) guests, this is a formal dress code. Typically knee length or longer dresses for the ladies and suits for the lads. Often in an Irish wedding ladies wear fascinators - so please feel wear one if you would like! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass so please be mindful of your shoes! Block heels are encouraged. We kindly ask that you do not wear white, cream or ivory. If there are any questions on the dress code, please feel free to reach out.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are not having additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. All guests invited will be listed on your invitation.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adult-only event with the exception of our bridal party. We hope you understand and can enjoy a fun date night!

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

There is ample parking available on site at our venue. Please feel free to leave your car overnight at the venue. However, please keep in mind taxis are not readily available and need to be organized in advance. Cars will need to be picked up by Saturday at 11AM. Ireland has a zero tolerance policy regarding drinking and driving (i.e the legal limit is 0% BAC). Please do not drink and drive!

Question

Will you be supplying bathroom baskets?

Answer

Yes! We’ll have small bathroom baskets stocked with a few essentials you might need or may have forgotten. However, our venue has requested that we don’t provide flip-flops, as they aren’t suitable for the space and often go unused. We recommend bringing your own comfortable shoes if you’d like to change during the celebration.

Question

What is a "day two"

Answer

A day two is a casual, informal celebration held the day after the main wedding ceremony, allowing the couple to spend more time with family and friends. This is a staple of an Irish wedding. Attendance is not required, but we would love for you to celebrate with us. We will be holding our day two at Sean's bar in Athlone.
