Covid-19 Update 2.0

To our friends and family: Due to the current local Covid-19 restrictions, we are limited to a small number of in-person guests, but we will be livestreaming our ceremony at St. Stanislaus church over Zoom. We would be so happy if you are able to celebrate our marriage with us virtually on February 13th. We will be posting the Zoom link on this website prior to the wedding, so please check back closer to the date. While this isn't what we had originally planned, we are excited to make the best of getting married during the pandemic. Love you and feeling extra thankful for all of you this holiday season ♥. Love, Monica & Aaron

How We Met

Some of y’all might be wondering how in the world did Aaron and Monica find love in a town of 80,000 in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains? And yes, sometimes we wonder that too. But the reality is Aaron and Monica’s paths were already intertwined far before their first date. Monica had just wrapped up her first year of medical school in Lynchburg while Aaron had moved here just a few months prior for an engineering job. Not one for online dating, Monica had been convinced by a few friends to just “give it a shot” and decided to create a Bumble account. After many nights of swiping left, she stumbled across Aaron’s account, a picture in front of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge just a few miles from where she used to work in Dallas. She thought this worthy of at least a right swipe. After exchanging a few messages back and forth, Monica quickly realized that they shared many of the same stomping grounds. Monica had just moved from Dallas while Aaron grew up in the DFW area. Intrigued by the possibility of finding a bit of home in Lynchburg, Aaron asked Monica out. In typical Texan fashion, Aaron proposed going to El Jefe, the local taco joint, for tacos and margaritas. Monica gladly obliged. Talking about everything from Dallas to their past travels, their mutual love for national parks and Mr. Wonderful on Shark Tank, what started out as dinner and drinks evolved into hours of conversation about shared interests. They knew this could be something special…or at least worth a second date. Three years and many dates later, our love for each other (and tacos) continues to grow by the day. We are excited to begin our future together and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you on February 13th!
