The Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) is about 30-45 minutes away from the city center. Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Grab are readily available. We recomend to download "Grab" application- works like Uber. Or you can take the direct taxi at the aiport. Try not to pay more than 500.000 vnd for 1 way (20 euro)
Grab is the most convenient way. You can take grab bikes, grab cars. There is another app called "Xanh SM", all of their vehicles are electric. You can experience the "Tesla" of Vietnam :) Price per ride is around 1-10 euros in the city depends on the distance. But in general it is really cheap. Bike rental is an option, best to check with Linh before renting
All bookings can be made via Booking.com or Airbnb. The most common area to stay in is inside or near the old quarter. Second location could be around the West Lake. Third location you could consider renting close to the Ho Chi Minh Masoleum, this location will be close to where we live.
In October, Hanoi experiences mild and pleasant weather. The temperatures are typically between 20-25°C (68-77°F), with lower humidity compared to the summer months. It’s generally a dry month, though occasional rain showers are possible. It’s the perfect time to visit, as the weather is comfortable for outdoor activities and exploring the city.
Vietnamese weddings are typically formal and respectful. Guests may be asked to give gifts, often in the form of money in an envelope. It is customary to avoid talking about bad luck, and to show respect to the elders and the couple during the ceremony.
Yes, there will be an English-speaking translator during the ceremony and reception to ensure that all our international guests can follow along.
Please refer to your wedding invitation for specific instructions regarding plus-ones. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out to us for confirmation.
Hanoi has several international clinics and hospitals. You can also consult your hotel for recommendations. Typically Aaron doesn't have travel insurance and we only pay full-price in the clinics. The service is amazing and we always pay around 30-50 euros per visit. Recommended clinics are: Thu Cuc, Hong Ngoc, Vinmec, Medlatec.
Please RSVP by the beginning of August, preferably through the wedding website.
Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory in Vietnam. In restaurants, a tip of 5-10% is common. For services like taxis, it’s also customary to round up the fare.
The local currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). Not many places accept credit cards, so it’s a good idea to have some cash on hand for small purchases or tips. You can exchange money at the airport or in the center.
