We met when Lindsey returned to Valparaiso University to begin work as a student affairs professional. According to coworkers, they knew there was a spark long before we ever did. Lindsey was more focused on work than romance and Aaron wasn't ready to commit to anything. A few months in, we attended a conference together and ended up brushing our teeth next to each other in a twin-sink bathroom. That's when Aaron felt there could be something more than friendship to this situation. A few days after that we went to a trivia night and Lindsey mentioned she was invited to a wedding, but didn't have a date. The wheels in Aaron's mind started turning. He was facing the same type of wedding situation, so he proposed an idea: If Lindsey would take Aaron as her plus one to her friend's wedding in December, Aaron would take Lindsey as a plus one to his friend's wedding in June and we'd be even. Brilliant! Lindsey approved of the plan and we went to the December wedding together as friends. Aaron met Lindsey's friends and we spent the night talking and dancing. Lindsey's friends asked "So is there something going on with you two? Are you sure he's just a friend?" She certainly had some feelings to process. Finally, a few days after that Lindsey came over to Aaron's apartment to watch a movie with another friend. Lindsey and Aaron talked and eventually a foot massage was involved. After Lindsey left the apartment that night to return home, Aaron had to ask an important question. "Hey, is there something going on between us?" Lindsey responded saying she was about to ask the exact same thing. We officially started dating the next day and the rest is history. There have been highs and lows since those days, wonderful adventures and mundane tasks. We are excited that this was just the beginning of our story and we truly look forward to sharing the rest of our lives together. We think it's safe to say that there is something going on between us.
