Palm Springs and midcentury modernism go hand in hand, and you’ll find plenty of shops, galleries (notably a showroom from retro-inspired artist SHAG) and eclectic furniture stores dedicated to the playful aesthetic along Palm Canyon Drive.
Young pool party vibe at this extremely cute hotel - go elsewhere if you want to chill because it's a scene! You don't have to be a hotel guest to use their pool (although you may have to pay a cover charge). Adult snow-cones are offered poolside. The Amigo Room bar is cozy and has killer drinks. Excellent diner for brunch.

Create your own DIY architecture tour of famous midcentury homes in notable neighborhoods, from Tennis Club to Araby Cove, and you’ll spot plenty of architectural gems along the way. Highlights include the Del Marcos Hotel, Elvis’s Honeymoon Hideaway, The Elrod House, Twin Palms Frank Sinatra Estate, Liberace's home, and the Edris House.
A Palm Springs classic. Affordable, authentic Mexican food, nothing fancy. It has been around since 1958 and is a great place to grab a bite when you're shopping on main street. Make sure you're at "the original," not the new locations.
You might know these dinos from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and they make a great photo op for kids of all ages on the drive into or out of Palm Springs from L.A. Just pull up and take a photo — avoid paying for the museum (trust us).
Joshua Tree is one of the strangest, most magical places we've ever been. The rock formations and namesake trees are unique to this particular place in the world — it's really something you have to experience in person to fully appreciate. The park is about 40 minutes from our venue, so we would really only recommend checking it out if you make it town a day or two before the festivities begin.
