Lake Como, Italy

Ferries are a great way to get around Lake Como. Please use the link below to explore boat times and destinations.

Explore Como

There's lots to do in Como. Here's a few sights and activities: Cathedral: Found in the centre of the historical centre. Funicular Railway: The Furnicular Railways takes you up to the top of the mountain where you get stunning lake views. There are many footpaths that can be taken from there. There are many walking, food, and cooking tours in Como that are easily found on Trip Advisor.

Explore Bellagio

Bellagio is a lovely village to explore (as long as you wear comfy shoes!). Here are a few activies: Villa Melzi: Villa with gardens within walking distance from the ferry port in Bellagio. Cooking Class: You can take Italian cooking classes at the Salice Blu. Lido di Bellagio: Lido is where you can swim in the lake and relax during the day, and it becomes a club at night.

Explore Cadenabbia/Tremezzo

Villa Carlotta: This is a large villa with gardens on the lake font, with its own boat port. Have lunch or dinner at The Grand Tremezzo. The views are spectacular. Greenwalk: A greenwalk runs along the lake from Cadenabbia to Colonno (about 6 miles in total).

Explore Lenno

Lenno is a small, rural village with some beutiful sites: Villa Balbianello: A famous villa that starred in Star Wars. You can walk or take a boat from Lido di Lenno (closed Monday and Wednesday). Lido Di Lenno: During the day Lido Di Lenno has a sun beds, a sandy artificial beach, and a great lakeside cafe. At weekends this transforms into a nightclub with a dance floor and gazebos surrounded by candlelit seating.

Explore Varenna

Villa Monastero: Villa Monestero is a beutiful villa with botanical gardens on the lake. Kayaking: €10 per hour, from outside the cafes in Varenna. Cooking Classes: Cooking classes are at the Caminetto above Varenna. Vezio Castle: Visit the tower and vaults that date back to medieval times. It is also a bird breeding centre and they have falconry flights daily (depending on weather conditions). Footpaths: There are footpaths from Varenna, Fiume Latte & Perledo. These paths are very steep so wear comfy shoes!
