We met during graduate school at West Virginia University.

During a trip to Aaron’s family cabin in Piedmont, Ohio, we came across an old bottle of Seagram’s whiskey from his grandparents’ home in Roberts Ridge, West Virginia. No one knew exactly how old it was, but it felt like the perfect time to open it. After sharing a shot, Aaron turned to Adrianne and asked her to be his girlfriend. The whiskey still lives at the cabin — and we plan to take another sip on our wedding night.

We bought our first home together in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

After our four-year anniversary dinner in Detroit, Aaron proposed!
