This half-mile stretch of beach located in Mount Irvine Bay is excellent for a full day of swimming and sunbathing, as well as being a popular spot to catch view of big wave surfers. Beach-goers can also head out in a kayak or snorkel and discover the coral, sponge, and reef fish species living in the bay.
Englishman’s Bay is a stunning stretch of coastline where the lush greens of the rain forest seem to almost touch the deep blue-green water of the ocean. Wild vegetation provides ample shade and privacy to beachgoers in search of solitude, while the cool waters offer ideal conditions for swimming and snorkeling.
Established in 1776, the Main Ridge Forest Reserve is the oldest legally protected forest reserve in the Western Hemisphere. Inside, the Gilpin Trace trail takes you through the mountainous heart of the rain forest where you can view six species of hummingbirds, dozens of different mammals, and much, much more. At 175 feet and surrounded by lush greenery, Argyle Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Tobago. Guests can park at or take a taxi to the Roxborough Visitor Service office and take a short 15-20 minute trek to the falls.
