It all began for me in February 2020. I headed to Nepal to do life with my dear friends the Stockills for a little bit. As February turned into March, a team arrived from Washington, and so did a global pandemic. We all headed out to a village early in the month, not really grasping that the world was about to come to a halt. A hike down a mountain after watching the sunrise on the Himalayas brought a conversation with Tim that took me by surprise and quickly moved him from a nice guy to the "someone I would really like to get to know more" category! Little did I know that lockdown, an evacuation flight seated together and a detour to my house before his return to Washington and quarantine would bring just that chance. I remember not sleeping once on that 20 plus hour flight because I enjoyed Tim's company so much and I didn't want that flight to end. At the end of it all I vividly remember our goodbye and not knowing what would happen, but I did know if that man ever pursued me, my answer would be yes. It took nearly 4 years, several visits between the east and west coasts, a road trip, beach trips, and another trip to Nepal, but finally on October 27, 2023 I was able to give a "yes" to the girlfriend question (complete with a single rose, and if you don't know that story - come talk to us! God's detail is insane). This was followed by the May 27, 2024 question that took me by surprise and filled me with wonder... "will you be my wife?" And here we are! Countless people have fasted, prayed, encouraged, and truly walked with each of us in our singleness and now on our road toward marriage. You know who you are, and your love and care have played a huge role in us being together! From the beautiful friends we have in Nepal and cherish with all of our hearts there to those of you on each coast in America and those serving all over the world, we love you. We are so grateful for you. Thank you for walking with us. Thank you for being excited with us! And thank you for celebrating with us as we begin this new and exciting chapter of becoming husband and wife!
