Alison and Jordan’s story began in elementary school when they met as fourth graders. They attended school together all the way through high school, graduating in 2011. Throughout their school years, Alison had an on-and-off crush on Jordan, but their different friend groups and extracurriculars kept them from really getting to know each other. Years after graduating college, the COVID pandemic brought Jordan back to southern Maryland. Alison was still living just five minutes down the road from his parents' house, in her childhood home. Both Alison and Jordan had Tinder accounts at the time, but Alison had given up on the app shortly before Jordan swiped "super like" on her profile. When she didn’t respond after a few days, Jordan decided to add her on Facebook instead. Alison was surprised to see the notification, and wondered if it was a casual gesture or a potential attempt to connect in person. She accepted the friend request, and Jordan wasted no time. He messaged her shortly after, and their first date was scheduled within a few messages. On July 16, 2020, Alison and Jordan went to Brü Beer Garden for their first date. They quickly bonded over shared memories from their school days and discovered they had the same crass sense of humor. Neither of them had been actively looking for a serious relationship at the time, but their connection was undeniable. Early in their relationship, Jordan moved to Baltimore City to be closer to work, which also happened to be near Alison’s new job. What started as Alison frequently staying at Jordan’s apartment for convenience turned into the two of them unofficially living together. After Jordan’s lease ended, they officially moved into an apartment together. Over the past four years, the city has been the perfect place to fall in love. In May 2024, Jordan began planning his proposal with the help of Alison’s best friends, Carly and Cecile. He arranged a trip to Bolt Farm Treehouse in Tennessee, where they stayed in a stunning treehouse with a cliffside view. On their first night, Jordan planned a romantic dinner to give the staff at Bolt Farm time to set up the proposal site. The entire drive back to Bolt Farm after dinner, Alison used Jordan's phone to play music. Jordan was acting weird and trying to control the song choices; Alison thought that it was maybe because he was tired of listening to Chappell Roan, but it was actually because he was scared a text message about the proposal would come through! When they arrived back at their treehouse, Alison was welcomed by a candlelit pathway that led to the words “MARRY ME” in glowing, light-up letters overlooking the cliffside. Alison was speechless and hugged Jordan before even giving her answer. Now, Alison and Jordan are thrilled to share their wedding day with so many people that they love!
