While attending a dinner party at Black Market in Indianapolis, Brendan and Erin just so happened to sit across the table from each other and struck up a conversation. They realized Erin worked with Brendan’s Aunt Wendy. Afterwards, Brendan promptly drove to Wendy’s house to ask for Erin’s number as they had missed each other at the end of the dinner party. Wendy, being the badass she is, told him to do his own work and wouldn’t give him her number (which is Erin’s favorite part of the whole story). Erin was working on a big project at work and Brendan came in to volunteer. At the end of the week, she kept assigning him extra tasks so she could work up the nerve to ask for his number but ended up chickening out. Later, after the help of some liquid courage, Erin convinced her friends to go to Black Market for drinks and sat herself right in front of Brendan’s section of the bar. At the end of the evening Brendan (finally) gave Erin his number and the rest is history.
