It all started with a Caramel Brulee Latte on a cold Friday night. Then came first dates and conversations of American history and Theodore Roosevelt. From there, we began to write our own history.
In April of 2018, Victoria was working to organize a volunteer event at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, where she had once worked as a Park Ranger. Knowing the staff almost as well as she did, James furtively obtained the contact information of her old boss, Josh, and began planning his proposal. A few days later, Josh contacted Victoria asking her to come up to the site to go over minute details of the volunteer event to "pacify" the superintendent of the site's request for event thoroughness. Victoria was, at first, hesitant to drive up to Oyster Bay, since the very next day, she and James were set to leave for a vacation to Texas. James, of course, talked her into going. After arriving at Sagamore Hill, James took Victoria up to the very spot where she had told him she loved him for the first time, five years earlier, and asked her to marry him.
