Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite place in Grand Rapids! While you're in town, make a weekend out of it! Grand Rapids is full of charm with great local restaurants, scenic lakes, and trails. Whether you're up for exploring the Forest History Center or the Judy Garland Museum, taking a walk around Pokegama Lake, grabbing a bite at Brewed Awakenings, or shopping at Bender's, there's plenty to enjoy!
Brewed Awakenings

Brewed Awakenings

Tristan took Melanie here the first time he brought her up to Grand Rapids to meet his family. Her favorite thing on the menu is the Zesty Vegan sandwich! Stop by Brewed Awakenings, a local favorite in Grand Rapids. This charming coffeehouse serves up delicious drinks, fresh pastries, and light bites in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re grabbing a latte to-go or settling in for a relaxing moment, it’s the perfect little stop to start your day or unwind in between wedding festivities.

Judy Garland Museum

If you have a little extra time during your stay in Grand Rapids, we highly recommend a visit to the Judy Garland Museum. Grand Rapids is Judy’s hometown, and the museum is home to the house where she was born—plus lots of memorabilia from The Wizard of Oz and her incredible career. It’s a charming, nostalgic stop and a fun way to connect with a bit of local history (and Hollywood magic!).

Forest History Center

Looking for something unique to do while in Grand Rapids? The Forest History Center is a great spot to explore Minnesota’s rich logging and natural history. You can walk through a recreated 1900s logging camp, climb a fire tower, and learn about the region’s deep connection to the north woods. It’s a fun and interactive experience for all ages—and a perfect way to enjoy the beautiful outdoors while you’re here!

Benders
