If you have time before or after the wedding weekend, we'd highly suggest you take a trip to Moab, Utah. Moab is a sight unlike any other! Boasting two National Parks (Arches & Canyonlands), ancient red rock rising up into the bright blue sky, miles of slickrock for mountain biking, a cute downtown with restaurants & shopping, & all under 2 hour drive from Palisade.
Experience towering monoliths within a breathtaking plateau and canyon panorama. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of Rim Rock Drive, where you may spy bighorn sheep and soaring eagles.
There's a ton to see & do in Grand Junction. You can head there from Palisade for a couple or hours, or a few days. You might even be able to catch Grand Junction's Oktoberfest celebration! If you arrive by air into GJT, you'll be in Grand Junction, which is only a 17 minute drive from Palisade.
This link to Alltrails.com has some great trail recommendations with difficulty level included. Palisade Rim Trail seems like a great option, with Mt. Garfield being a more difficult option. These trails can also be biked. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, bring layers, & don't skimp on the water.
