A family-owned local ice cream shop. We bonded over Day's while in college since it was a shop we both frequented growing up when we would go down the shore. Fun fact: It is also where Justin proposed to Avery.
If you're this close to the Asbury Park boardwalk, you can't not go! Yes, there's the beach if you're up for it, but there's also a bunch of neat food stands, arcades, stores, and so much more on the boardwalk. It's our favorite spot on the Jersey shore.
If you like bagels, you have to fit in a stop to a local Jersey bagel place. We like What About a Bagel because they have just about everything you could want bagel-wise, they're easy to place orders at the counter, and there's plenty of seating. Maybe you could try a pork roll, egg, and cheese (just don't forget the salt, pepper, and ketchup)!
Pizza just isn't the same outside of New Jersey, and Galley will prove it to you. They specialize in thin-crust pies (yum!) and have a tons of specialty styles to choose from, or make your own.
It's a little further out of the way, but Delicious Orchards is a great local farm market. Both Avery's and Justin's families will go here regularly and many locals will get their weekly groceries here. We're a big fan of their apple cider donuts, though all of their baked goods are great!
