(Rice Village) Favorite little coffee shop, wonderful quiches, sandwiches, and pastries.
(EADO) Cozy coffee and plant shop
(Midtown) Arguably the best soul food in Houston. Be prepared for a wait if you don't make it before 11! The line is cut off at 2pm, but if you're in line before then you're guaranteed to eat and it's always worth it.
(Museum District) Great brunch and lunch, casual
(Montrose) Cajun inspired. Feels like a dive but they have an insanely good seafood boil. Bibs and wet wipes included.
(Montrose) Classic Texas barbecue
(Midtown) If you've never had soup dumplings, you've got to try them here.
(Montrose) If you're thinking about going to Velvet taco, Tacos a Go-Go, or Torchy's, ditch it for this food truck.
(Rice Village) Casual, delicious Turkish food. Kabobs galore.
(Downtown) More traditional, authentic Mexican
(Montrose) Favorite sushi spot for us, great cocktails and sushi handrolls. Counter bar seating only.
(Montrose) If you're talking brunch in Houston, Traveler's Table is bound to come up.
(Montrose) Award winning, modern Tex-Mex. Mole and tequila professionals.
(just outside of Downtown) modern Vietnamese, sharable but hefty plates.
(Montrose) Fancy fancy sushi, award winning
(Rice Village) Modern Israeli. More expensive but one of my favorite meals in Houston so far.
Modern French. Right up there with Hamsa on the best meals we've had in Houston. It's located right above the bar we'll be having drinks at Friday night - highly recommend making a dinner reservation before heading downstairs!
