Pave'

Pave'

Wilmington, NC

Pave' is downtown Wilmington's newest event space. We are conveniently located on the ground floor on Water Street (near Chandler's Warf)...just steps away from the River Walk and the Cape Fear River. We book it out from 9-4 or 5-10pm. We are going GREEN and not meaning just adding plants (but yes, more plants the better). No more wasting water washing linen/dishes. Our plates/flatware/cups are biodegradable (we do offer an eclectic mix of real wine/champagne glasses). No more 6 foot banquet tables. This venue is meant for social gatherings. Pave' is cocktail style so lounge if you like on the couch, hop up on a bar stool or stand and mix/mingle. We offer all the rentals. There is only one bathroom at Pave' so that keeps our numbers comfortably in the 25-35 range. This is the vision for Pave'. I have done traditional venues in the past but I thought it was time to mix things up a bit.

The historic downtown district provides walkability to hotels, restaurants, and riverfront photo opportunities along the Cape Fear River. The Taproom at Front Street Brewery sits in the heart of downtown, giving guests easy access to the city's attractions. Choosing a downtown or nearby venue means out-of-town guests can walk between their hotel, ceremony, and reception, while local landmarks provide stunning backdrops for wedding photography. The area's concentration of accommodations and dining also simplifies planning for wedding weekends and rehearsal dinners. Downtown venues tend to book quickly during peak season, so start your search 12–18 months ahead.

Wilmington's coastal location makes spring (March through May) and fall (September through November) the most popular wedding seasons, offering mild temperatures, lower humidity, and beautiful outdoor weather. Average highs in April and October hover in the comfortable 70s, perfect for ceremonies with ocean breezes. Summer months (June through August) bring heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms, though they're considered off-peak and can save couples around 20–30% on venue pricing. Winter weddings (December through February) offer the best rates but require indoor backup plans for unpredictable weather. Peak season venues in spring and fall book 12–18 months in advance, while off-peak dates in summer and winter often have availability just 6–9 months out. May and October are particularly sought-after months.

Wilmington offers competitive wedding pricing compared to both national averages and nearby North Carolina cities. For 100 guests, couples spend around $27,500 to $41,300 in Wilmington, slightly above the national median of $25,000 but well below the metro average of around $50,100 cited in the Zola Wedding Cost Index survey. Compared to other North Carolina destinations, Wilmington runs slightly below Charlotte (around $27,200 to $40,800), Raleigh (around $27,700 to $41,600), and Asheville (around $28,700 to $43,100). The coastal setting and historic charm come at a more accessible price point than mountain or major metro markets. With venue starting prices from around $1,000 and options like Belle Vue Wilmington at around $500, Wilmington delivers strong value for destination-worthy celebrations.

For Wilmington wedding venues, booking 12 to 18 months in advance is recommended, especially if you're planning a spring or fall wedding when the coastal weather is most favorable. The area's popularity as a destination wedding location—with its historic downtown charm and beachfront access—means prime dates fill up quickly, particularly April through June and September through November.

If you're planning a summer or winter wedding, you may have more flexibility with 9 to 12 months' notice, though popular venues still book early year-round. According to the Zola Wedding Cost Index, venue costs in Wilmington range from around $4,300 to $6,400 for 100 guests, with starting prices based on Zola marketplace data showing a median of around $1,500. Early booking not only secures your preferred date but often provides more negotiating room on rates and package options.

Wilmington offers diverse wedding venue options across its coastal landscape, though specific neighborhood concentrations vary. The historic downtown district is a major draw, featuring waterfront venues along the Cape Fear River with classic Southern architecture and easy access for guests staying in the city center. These locations often provide both ceremony and reception spaces with scenic backdrops.

The beachfront areas toward Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach offer stunning ocean views and relaxed coastal elegance, ideal for couples wanting a beach wedding without sacrificing amenities. For those seeking something more secluded, venues in the surrounding areas provide plantation-style estates and garden settings with Spanish moss and live oaks. Based on Zola marketplace data, venue starting prices across Wilmington range from around $1,000 to $2,700, giving couples options across different neighborhoods and styles to match their vision and budget.
