All about thank you cards
Which Thank You Cards Work For Your Wedding Style?
When you think back on your wedding day, after the celebration’s over and “I do” is said, how do you make sure everyone who really helped feels your gratitude? Writing thank you cards is not just a custom—it’s often your last, personal part of the whole event, and you can make it even more meaningful if your card selection fits your style.
What Kinds Of Wedding Thank You Cards Do Most Couples Choose?
If you wonder what other couples do, or which designs work best, statistics show that single-photo options stand out—about 70% of newlyweds choose these, which means this approach is the usual one. Showing a favorite photo helps you give a coordinated feel that links with other items (such as your invitations or menu cards). Nahomi leads the list as the top design, followed by choices like Goundry, Avila, Violin, and Loxley. You also often see portrait orientation (chosen 18% of the time) instead of landscape (just 8%), likely because it fits well with other items and gives a vertical look that’s clear and modern.
How Do You Select Thank You Cards That Actually Fit Your Event?
Should you just pick any card from the list, or is it better to match it with your event’s details and/or color? If you want a more personal result, you can select a design that also uses your invitations’ colors or fonts. Nahomi lets you cover the whole front with a photo, while Goundry’s option leaves more space for writing. Avila works if you want something subtle and elegant. Violin brings a bit more detail, and Loxley matches a modern theme. Using a card that echoes a main element from your invitations or menus is a great way to create a clear, joined look.
What Can Make A Thank You Card Message Special?
Is it hard for you to write a good message? For the most part, a special note feels direct and sincere—it uses real details from the day or about the gift. If a friend gave you kitchen items, you might say, “Your kitchenware will help us cook our favorite meals,” or, for home items, talk about where they’re in your house. If a guest shared a unique moment with you, mention that point. If you got money, you can focus on the new experience it helps—like saying you’ll use it for your next trip or to finish a home project. Details make your words stand out.
How Soon Should You Send Wedding Thank You Cards?
When do you need to send thank you notes? Timing matters, and while etiquette says you can wait up to three months, nobody wants to feel rushed or late. If someone sends a gift before the event, try to write your thank you within two weeks. Making a list (in a notepad or a spreadsheet) helps you keep track and stay organized. And if you had a destination event, it’s a good idea to send cards soon to guests who went a long way. Breaking the job into smaller steps—like 5-10 cards a day—makes things easier to handle.
How Can You Make Writing Thank You Cards Feel Less Stressful?
If the task seems large, what can you do? Plenty of people find it’s easier when you set up a space at home to keep cards, pens, and your list in one spot. If you split the job, each partner can write to people they know best, which often means the message is warmer and the work goes faster. Writing some notes while on your trip or honeymoon also helps you recall the experience and makes writing more fun.
A Final Thought
Choosing thank you cards is about more than paper or “stationery.” The last message you send after your wedding lets you finish your story, share your real gratitude, and show your style one last time in a way that’s true to you.
