Care Instructions: Can be cleaned with mild soap and water at any time and will give the surface a lighter patina over time. Frequent washing with a soap solution will increase the surface resistance...As the wood absorbs more soap it becomes further repellant to marks and staining. To remove oil, grease, or fat stains place light powder on the stain and let it rest for several hours. Residue left after a few hours should be lightly sanded using 0000 extra fine steel wool or sandpaper. Always sand in the direction of the wood grain. Rough areas or areas with abrasion can be lightly sanded with sandpaper or with 0000 extra fine steel wool. Variations in wood grain, texture & color as well as knots are natural occurring characteristics and are inherent to solid wood. **Please refer to the pacifica supplemental care info sheet published in the crate characteristics section of furniture resources via crate news for additional information. Wood movement & seasonal cracking/splitting will occur with changes in temperature/climate and is acceptable & inherent to solid wood. * We strongly recommend customer wipe down their case pieces - Specifically the insides of the drawer boxes to remove any dust from production. Due to the nature of the reclaimed wood, dowel patches and wood filler should be considered acceptable characteristics. The fsc-certified reclaimed teak used for this product is sanded to be smooth and left unfinished in its natural state to showcase the wood's unique variations. Over time natural teak oils rise from the surface, mixing with sanded particles and can create what looks like dust/residue. This is a natural characteristic of the wood. All pieces should be wiped down before use.
