One of our first memories together getting to know each other from afar was when Ro-el was at a wedding in France. On his way to the wedding, he went on a mission during his one day stop over in Paris to recreate the Eiffel tower selfie Manida sent him from her trip there the previous year. After a literal marathon day of walking in and out of hot sun and torrential downpours, and hundreds of selfie angles, he got the shot! We're planning our honeymoon in Spring 2026, but we'll be headed on a mini-honeymoon to relax on a beach somewhere in the pacific southwest, ask us where we're headed at the wedding. Almost 25 years ago, a small group of Stanford student volunteers met on campus before spending their summer volunteering in a rural India, they didn't know it then, but their meeting would eventually lead to the creation of an organization funding the construction and maintenance of Hospital for Hope, now serving 1200 patients a month in the very region where they met.
