On our last trip we hiked nearly 50 miles and spent roughly 70 hours driving across the country. We're hoping to beat that this trip with even more hiking across even more parks. There's nothing like a massage to relax and recover after such an awesome adventure.

REI becomes our second home in the weeks leading up to our hiking trips. From clothing and gear to all our hiking food and first aid, these guys make sure we make it out of these trips alive.

Many National Parks have beautiful lodges and dining rooms that overlook their fantastic scenery. It's a nice break from peanut butter and kind bars to sit and have a nice dinner in the middle of the wilderness.

We'll be spending more than 80-100 hours driving to and from these amazing places. With a good playlist (or taking a nap while the other one takes a turn driving) these scenic drives can be just as gorgeous as their destinations.

The last time we went hiking in National Parks, we trekked about 5-15 miles a day. At the end of a day like that, sometimes a glass of bubbly with your feet soaking in the tub is the best way to wind down.

Hiking 5-15 miles every day means that we don't have lots of time for real meals during the day, and need as many easy calories as we can. When we head out for these trips we're packing as many Clif Bars, Kind Bars, Shot Bloks, Gatorade, Smartwater, etc. that the Jeep can carry.

With a trip like this you can't be too careful when it comes to first aid. Last time we came back, one of us (Not naming names, Jeffrey!) decided that for a souvenir he wanted to bring back a collapsed lung (hence the X-ray of a collapsed lung).

Last we hiked, the average temperature was around 100º during the day. This trip it may average closer to 30º in some locations. We've done winter in Texas, but snow and ice mean a bit more gear is needed. We'll need things like winter hiking boots, insulated clothing, waterproof jackets, gloves, etc. Basically, we are from the south and this cold weather will be rough on us.

The beginning of our first National Parks roadtrip and where we got engaged on the last night of our most recent cross-country mega-roadtrip.

We're spending 3 days in Glacier National Park and many of the roads are only available to hikers and bikers this time of year. The views and experience of biking in the open air through Glacier's scenery is supposed to be incredible!

We took nearly 3000 photos on our last trip and couldn't edit down past nearly 500 images. Seeing so many amazing sites, we love to capture them with photos and a photo great high quality album from Social Print Studio allows us to have a physical book we can look back on for years to come.

Our second to last stop (and 3rd to last National Park) is Great Sand Dunes. We've heard that this place is truly other worldly. We can't wait to spend time exploring these massive dunes with the snowcapped mountains in the distance.

We've scheduled out 2 full days to spend in Rocky Mountain National Park. With beautiful peaks and valleys we can't wait to watch sunset and sunrise in this incredible place.

We'll be visiting 2 National Parks (Badlands and Wind Cave) along with Mount Rushmore with 2 nights in South Dakota to explore.

We are staying at the "luxurious" One Horse Motel in West Yellowstone for two nights as we explore Grand Tetons Nation Park and Yellowstone National Park.

We're spending 3 nights in and around Glacier National Park. Located in northern Montana, we'll be just miles away from the Canadian border and are hoping to stay as close as we can to the park in order to be able to hike some of the longer day hikes. We promise incredible photos!
