Swim with Mike's mission is to provide scholarships for advanced education that pave the way for physically challenged athletes to overcome their tragedies and realize their full potential.
Taylor's brother Zack grew up playing baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, and tennis, but was always most passionate about tennis. As a freshman at Menlo Atherton High School he was MVP of the tennis team and a league champion. As a sophomore he spent a semester in Switzerland attending an American school focused on skiing, hiking, biking, and climbing, in addition to rigorous academics. After returning home, a blood clot engendered from a simple fall while abroad resulted in T1 paraplegia. After three months in the hospital Zack returned to school and switched gears to play table tennis and wheelchair tennis and made the Paralympic Team for the US Open. Zack is a SWM recipient majoring in Economics at USC, and is a member of the Trojan Knights. He is a passionate musician who enjoys making beats, rapping, and playing the piano. He started an annual wheelchair basketball tournament (going on its 4th year) and has made significant strides in improving accessibility on USC's campus for people with various disabilities as the Director of Accessibility Affairs in USC's Undergraduate Student Government. It is thanks to Swim with Mike that this has all been possible for Zack.
