Mia & Andrew
August 11, 2018
With all of you in our lives, what more could we ask for? So instead of a traditional registry, we'd like to use this occasion to support a few organizations that provide for others things that have meant so much to each of us. That will bring us more joy than even the nicest toaster.

Sprouts Cooking Club
Group gift
Cooking is really important to us and a big part of our relationship, so we're big fans of the mission behind Sprouts Cooking Club. "In 2006, Sprouts was launched in the Bay Area with the mission to teach children from all socioeconomic, physical and mental health backgrounds the importance of healthy, nutritional foods through hands-on cooking with REAL chefs with REAL ingredients in REAL restaurants. In 2009, it was formally converted into an official 501c3, thanks to the encouragement of Alice Waters, a member of Sprouts’ advisory board." Donations help provide scholarships for Sprouts' programs to kids from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. https://www.sproutscookingclub.org/

CARE Animal Rescue
Group gift
Theo is a full-on member of our family, and we're thankful every day that he landed in our lives. We adopted him from the very fine folks at CARE Animal Rescue who took him in as a newborn, fostered him, and sent him our way. We'll be forever grateful to them and think that the work they do every day is worth supporting! http://www.caretx.org/

Sports Matter
Group gift
Sports have been a huge part of both our lives since as far back as we can remember - whether it was Mia on the range or Andrew catching Nerf balls. ("Dibs on being Jerry Rice!") Dicks Sporting Goods' Sports Matter initiative provides funding to youth programs that are otherwise at risk of being shut down. We believe that the more kids who have the opportunity to learn and grow through sports the better. http://www.sportsmatter.org/

Camp Summit
Purchased
We love being active outdoors - it's one reason we love living in the Bay Area. Camp Summit is an organization that provides outdoor experiences for disabled kids and adults. "At Camp Summit, we focus on our campers' abilities, rather than their disabilities. With our specialized equipment and trained staff, our campers can enjoy a truly barrier-free camp experience with activities like horseback riding, archery, swimming, ropes course, arts & crafts, sports & games, and much more. We welcome all campers, regardless of the severity of their disabilities. As long as we can medically meet their needs, they are welcome at camp - and all activities are adapted so that everyone can participate. " What's better than that?? Camp Summit has been around since 1947 and has four stars on Charity Navigator. https://www.campsummittx.org/about
