Lillian's Tio Tom passed away while he was teaching History at De Anza College. He earned his first BA degree in Engineering. Later he went back to school and earned BA and MA degrees in History. To honor his legacy, our family set up a scholarship fund in his name which supports first generation college students at De Anza College. One of our very favorite things to do is eat brunch. We'll make sure this is put to good use, think Parc on Rittenhouse Square, where we celebrated Lillian's birthday and where we ate after getting the yellow fever vaccine and right before Mike proposed.

Now that we're parents (to our dog Penny) we rarely get out for a night alone. We're still searching for a restaurant that allows dogs, but until then, we'll opt for an evening of intelligent conversation and...talking about Penny.

Look at that face, need we say more? We first met Penny at the Philadelphia SPCA and she's the best thing that ever happened to us! The SPCA changes animal's lives through humane law enforcement, shelter hospitals and low-cost veterinary clinics, in addition to adoptions and humane education.
