We both believe deeply in people and organizations that are making the world a better place. We're making a contribution to two organizations in particular in honor of our wedding, and we'd be honored to have you join us! -- Here's what we're choosing, and any contribution you make will be shared with these two organizations: ( 1 ) Edna's choice is Teach First NZ: Ako Mātātupu. Teach First NZ, or Ako Mātātupu in Te Reo, is addressing educational inequity in Aotearoa New Zealand by recruiting amazing graduates from all sectors to become teachers in schools serving low-income communities, and to develop as leaders who are improving educational equity and opportunity in all layers of society over time. Teach First NZ is the reason Edna moved to New Zealand in the first place, and it has been inspiring and exciting to see their reach and impact grow in leaps and bounds ever since. ( 2 ) Steven's choice is Write Around Portland. Write Around is a non-profit that uses creative writing to transform lives. Steven served as a workshop facilitator for six years, and has seen the immense, life-changing impact it's made on participants from prisons to low-income schools, from those experiencing homelessness to people recovering from trauma. Their work makes the world a better place, and we're honored to support them.

We plan on spending a lot of time exploring, traveling the world, and adventuring together as we figure out how and where we'll live over the coming years. If you feel like contributing, it's so appreciated, and it'll help us make everything possible!
