NCL Tour Description: Puerto Montt is the capital of the Lake Region and gateway to the breathtaking surrounding scenery of lakes and rivers framed by snowcapped volcanoes. This is nature at its most magnificent. Head to the Lake District en route to Petrohue falls, where you’ll make your first stop. Your drive in a small bus continues to an altitude of approximately 3,937 feet to La Burbuja, the starting point for those who come to ski on the slopes of the volcano. From this privileged point, you can admire the snow-capped Osorno Volcano, which reaches 8,700 feet above sea level, and also have time to walk around the property and take some amazing pictures. Descend towards Ensenada for lunch at a local restaurant. You’ll also stop in the resort community of Puerto Varas located on the shores of Lake Llanquihue where you’ll have some free time for shopping at a handicraft market.

NCL Tour Description: South of Chiloe and Puerto Montt lies the wild and beautiful Aysen District. This expedition highlights the virgin forests of Patagonia, offering you a glimpse of the impressive landscape of this wet and windy region. Traditional music, dances and a tasty lunch complement your experience. An approximately 15 minute ride takes you to the Aiken del Sur Park, where you’ll visit the information center for an introduction to the area. You’ll join your guide on an approximately two hour walk along the River Trail that will immerse you into the deep nature of Patagonia, traversing prairies and humid forests. Stop for photos along the way and to learn about the local fauna and flora. At the end of the trail, the Old Man’s Beard Cascade awaits. The return walk takes you along the Waterfall Trail, where you’ll board your coach to a local venue for a typical Patagonian barbecue lunch accompanied by Chilean wines and folkloric dances. NCL Tour Description: Enjoy Patagonian hospitality and an exciting day of country living at one of the most important local estancias. A scenic drive crossing the endless pampa (treeless grassland) brings you to this 100 year-old cattle ranch. It was established by sheep farmers in the middle of the vast Patagonian pampas and today, the estancia has opened its doors to a limited amount of visitors to demonstrate the art of living of these staunch farmers. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the hospitable, expert sheep farmers who have made this region famous, they will show you the different activities of the farm. You’ll be amazed seeing machinery used by the first colonists of the area still in use, in addition to the well trained dogs. You’ll be taken into the barn for a demonstration of sheep shearing. Try the traditional welcome drink, a Pisco Sour, as well as baked empanadas. Enjoy a barbecue of tasty Patagonian lamb, which has been grilled slowly for hours, accompanied by vegetables and salad. After lunch you’ll have free time to enjoy the farm and getting to know more about the life of the inhabitants of the Patagonian pampas.

NCL Tour Description: Combine the history and culture of Ushuaia, with a scenic drive to the mountains and countryside. Admire the rugged beauty of the landscape, experience local cuisine and learn about the city’s first habitants. Drive through one of Ushuaia’s neighborhoods to get acquainted with the city and travel along the Pan American Highway toward the north of the island. Admire the dramatic scenery of river valleys, majestic mountains, forests and peat bogs as you make your way across the Fuegian Andes up to Garibaldi Pass. If the day is clear, you’ll stop at a lookout point to take in the magnificent views of Escondido and Fagnano Lakes. Enjoy a typical meal of Patagonian lamb, slowly roasted in the wood fire, in a cozy local restaurant. Visit the Maritime Museum, housed in what was the first prison in Tierra del Fuego. Learn about the prison and life of the inmates. Dangerous convicts and well-known political prisoners made this prison famous until 1947 when it was closed. View the maritime and native people’s exhibits.

NCL Tour Description: Travel to the Bluff Cove Lagoon on an off-road adventure to discover the penguin colony in this natural habitat. Visit the small museum and enjoy home-made goodies at the cozy café. Start with a scenic 20-minute drive on mini-buses and transfer to 4x4 vehicles for an off road adventure with experienced local drivers. Upon arrival at the lagoon, you’ll be met by rangers and will be able to wander around the penguin colony and along the sandy white beach at leisure. There are approximately 1,000 pairs of Gentoo penguins and a growing colony of King penguins here. The site is very photogenic with a large lagoon and long sand beach, home to a variety of seabirds. Sea lions and dolphins have been spotted here on occasion. The Sea Cabbage Café offers comfortable, warm rooms, heated by a traditional peat stove. Here you can enjoy delicious home-made cakes, cookies, and scones with coffee or hot chocolate. The Bluff Cove Museum by the beach depicts life in the Falklands and tells the story of Bluff Cove. Visitors can find out about the farm, the wildlife here, and watch a demonstration of spinning and felting with local wool. There is a small gift shop offering unique souvenirs.

NCL Tour Description: Observe the abundant wildlife in the naturally beautiful Patagonian steppe, highlighted by a leisurely walk among a large colony of Magellanic penguins. After departing from the pier, you will settle in for an immensely scenic drive along the New Gulf and on to rugged Punta Ninfas on the Patagonian steppe. The vegetation here is shrubby, wind-blown and an ideal wildlife habitat. Gray fox, llama-like guanacas and various species of seabirds, including oystercatchers and albatrosses, are found in this dry landscape. Even so, penguins are the star attractions in this part of Patagonian, as you will discover from your base at El Pedral Lodge. Perched on a cliff, the lodge was built in 1904 and some of the period furnishing still remain, including the mahogany dining table. From here, you will head to a nearby Magellanic penguin rookery for an extended walk among these highly social birds. If you hear the penguins braying like donkeys, it is simply the way they seek mates. You can expect to see the penguins tottering about, tending to their young, interacting with each other, and perhaps hunting small fish just offshore. A group of penguins floating in the ocean is called a raft; a group on land is sometimes called a waddle because of their awkward walk. Later, you will walk through a ravine where you can observe fossils from the Cenozoic Era, estimated to be at least 30 million years old. Lunch at the lodge follows, after which you will return to the pier.

Perfect for those with late flights, this tour allows you to see the absolute highlights of Buenos Aires before spending the afternoon watching gauchos at a working ranch and then transferring to the airport to fly home.After departing from the pier, you will enjoy a leisurely drive through Buenos Aires, taking in landmarks such as the oldest neighborhood San Talmo and highly affluent Recoleta. The cemetery in the latter holds thousands of grandiose mausoleums including Eva Peron’s.You will also see Plaza de Mayo, arguably the country’s most famous square. Its name refers to the revolution that began nearby in May 1810 and led to Argentina’s independence from Spain. Some of the surrounding buildings are just as celebrated, including the salmon-colored executive mansion known as Casa Rosado and the glorious Metropolitan Cathedral.Then, it’s on to the neighborhood La Boca, where you will meander along El Caminito, a street full of expressive brightly colored buildings. Some claim the tango originated here around 1870, and tango dancers are often seen performing impromptu in the streets.Continuing on into the countryside, you will spend nearly four hours at an estancia that evokes the spirit of traditional ranching. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with traditional empanadas and a glass of wine or juice before enjoying a hearty barbeque of grass-fed Argentine beef that has been grilled to perfection. To enhance the experience, there will be a folkloric performance and gauchos will show off their prodigious skills as horsemen by riding at breakneck speed during a ring race.Following your gaucho experience, you will transfer to the Ezeiza International Airport for the flight home. Arrival time at the airport will be approximately 5:00 p.m.
