We have an oven mitt, but it's made out of silicone which can get slippery. Not ideal for hot dishes. Plus, because the one we have is a bit risky, we'll sometimes resort to dish towels and, well, let's just say we have some burns on our forearms. Time for some extra protection.

For 6 years, we've been using a wire oven rack to dry dishes. Peter thinks it's "almost all the way there" in terms of functionality. Sara thinks it's time for an "actual drying rack" and so, here we are.

As long as we've lived together, we've used brown paper grocery bags for recycling and a trashcan that's frustratingly difficult to open. We see a future where we're going to want both things tucked in a way in a closed container that's easy to open when both hands are occupied.Plus, one of us is particularly sensitive to the "lag" that some cans have between when you press on the foot pedal and the lid opening. This trash can doesn't have that.
