TJ Maxx, Ross, Goodwill, yard sales, we'll get creative

Besides thinking its necessary for families in the Church to step into adoption, Indy visited me for a week in Virginia back in March, and it seemed every conversation & meeting we had with friends that someone else brought up adoption. Totally unprompted and all separate occasions. We took that as we need to be open to it ourselves.

In Roanoke VA, the friends I lived with pooled up cash in a tin box every so often and called it the neighborhood fund. We bought food for cookouts, handed out some 20s for people needing help, and kept our eye out for people we could bless. One of the best instances was seeing a neighbor down the street with a missing back window to their jeep.Somebody found the jeep model, ordered the new replacement glass with the tin box money, and we all knocked on their door one day showing them the new back window glass and asked if we could install it ourselves. Turned out they had replacement glass in their back seat already and just hadn't installed it yet! Honestly can't remember which one we installed, but they had a spare now.Candace & Mark became good friends of ours. We'll be looking around for new back windows and such.
