Clinton’s uncle and Rachel’s cousin’s partner were both diagnosed in the past couple of months with cancer and won’t be able to join us at Windy Hill. If you would to make a donation to the American cancer society in their honor, we would deeply appreciate that.

We love both of our houses - and while we are excited to move to Walltown, we will miss easy access to the Eno River. We'd love to bring a little of the Eno into our new home by using this beautiful fabric crated by local artist Katie Hayes featuring the flora and fauna of the Eno River, including the trout lilies so abundant in Clinton's yard in early Spring.

Both of us have been using somewhat mismatched dishes but we would love to have a matching set that can last us the rest of our lives. Rachel has always loved fair trade Hebron glass dishes and we would love to support a Palestinian business during this time of conflict.

For our honeymoon, we are going to have the adventure of a lifetime - we are going to sail on the coast of Turkey, tracing part of the Paul's third missionary journey. Clinton is working on the second draft of his first novel set in this part of the world and we cannot wait to experience it for ourselves!

As a blended family, we are trying to be intentional about building and deepening already strong relationships with all four of us. Giving to this fund will enable us to enjoy adventures local and far away with the boys.

Gun violence in Durham impacts us all - we are thankful for the work that Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham does to provide long-term healing for our community in the wake of violent loss and to build a new future.

Clinton currently lives on the Mountain to Sea Trail, our first date was on it, and we got engaged on the trail. We would love to hike with you on it sometime! We are grateful for the work of the nonprofit that helps to maintain and advocate for the Mountains to Sea Trail and invite you to support it.

We are both thankful to have good medical insurance, but we are very aware of how that is not accessible for everyone. Clinton's church Emmaus Way has done some fundraising in the past to help forgive medical debt in Durham/Orange counties and we would love to invite you to support those efforts as well!

We both love eating tasty vegetables - and our favorite local farm is Transplanting Traditions! Transplanting Traditions is a nonprofit business hub that supports refugees from Burma as they resettle in Chapel Hill, NC. Many come to the United States with significant agricultural knowledge; Transplanting Traditions helps them to gain business skills to sell their veggies and flowers in an American market. Transplanting Traditions also has amazing teen programming (that helps young people to honor their heritage while resettling in NC) and donates extra veggies to local school children through PORCH.

We have both donated to Mennonite Central Committee and their response in Gaza for several reasons: 1) MCC is one of the few international organizations who has been allowed to work in Gaza 2) MCC helps not only with meeting immediate needs like food and blankets but will be present for the rebuilding process in partnership with local Palestinian leadership 3) MCC has been doing creative and imaginative peace-building work in Palestine for decades - providing trauma workshops, encouraging preservation of Palestinian heritage through music lessons, and equipping Palestinians to work for peace
