We stumbled into the world of companion birds with full hearts and wide eyes. We quickly learned that Parrots are not pets; they are super intelligent, affectionate and needy family members that are often bought without full understanding of their needs. This results in a world where parrots are returned, resold or worse, released into the wild. Since parrots are hand raised by humans they are not prepared for wild life. Further, parrots develop strong bonds with their families, so it causes great emotional pain when they are returned or resold. We would love if our union could be used not only to celebrate all of our lives but also to generate awareness and support of our feathered friends.
