MariJo and Samir have recently closed on their dream starter home in the heart of San Antonio, Texas. These love birds are beyond excited to be able to call this place home, along with Zorro, their furbaby. They have been fortunate enough to have some furniture with them from Minneapolis but are now realizing they may need to swap out some furniture pieces. Since MariJo is all about DEALS, aka Crazy on Coupons, she is hoping to collect a momentary amount that she will then be able to use to the max and buy the remaining pieces to really bring their home aesthetic together. Every time MariJo thinks of her memories in Pueba, her heart bursts with joy. Being in Puebla meant lots of great adventures with her grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, and niece/nephews. From having the best Christmas with fireworks to the simplicity of having street tacos, Puebla will always be home to MariJo. To share her culture with her friends and family, MariJoa would love to serve homecooked meals on a Talavera dinnerware set. Talavera is made from natural clays, rather than chemically treated and dyed clays, and the handcrafting process takes three to four months. Talavera pottery is made with two kinds of clay, a dark clay and a light, slightly rose-colored clay. Both of these clays come from the state of Puebla. These two clays are then mixed, strained, kneaded, and modeled by hand.Because Talavera is made in Puebla, we are unable to tie a complete dinner set to our registry. This is a process in which we will travel to Puebla and work with an expert potter to craft a design and then have it exported to the United States. It is a long process, but the outcome is breathtaking and true to our relationship.
