Our second stop along our journey will be Kirkwall, Orkney. This set of islands borders the Arctic Circle and is full of history from the stone age to Vikings! Our third stop along our adventure is to Inverness, a growing city along the banks of the River Ness. Your gift will allow us to set up camp in town and explore the surrounding area including the mysterious Loch Ness. Who knows, maybe we will pose for a picture with Nessie!

We are big fans of scotch and, of course, learning from the pros on tasting. Located on the distant Orkney Islands, Highland Park is a one-of-a-kind distillery which still does everything in house! Your contribution will allow us to take an exclusive tour of the distillery and have an expert guide us through some of their finest drams.

Now that we've gotten ourselves all the way out on the Orkney Islands, help us return to the mainland for our next stop in Inverness.

Your gift will see that we enjoy a romantic Scottish Highlands dinner in the growing city by the River Ness.

Your contribution helps us rent a car and purchase petrol. We will be driving from Inverness, west to Oban, south the Campbeltown, and finally heading to Glasgow. We will use the car to explore the wilds of the Scottish Highlands, including the Moine Thrust, the Great Glen Fault, and the Highland Boundary Fault. What more could two geologists want! we will also explore the rich history of the Glencoe Valley. Who knows, we may even stop to catch a glimpse of Nessie along the way!

Help us travel from Oban out to the small outer island of Iona where in the 6th century Irish monks established a monastery which later became the Iona Abbey. It is said that ancient kings of Scotland, Norway, and Ireland are buried here, including the real King Macbeth.

Following our cross country drive, treat us to a romantic dinner in the scenic coastal town of Oban.

Our second to last stop on our honeymoon will be the southwest peninsula-town of Campbeltown. We will be staying at a beautiful country estate bed and breakfast, where we can wander lush gardens and take in dramatic seascapes. Your gift will give us a romantic place to stay for our first Valentine's Day as a married couple!
