Our next two nights are at this historic landmark hotel-- the Sofitel Legend Metropole. Located near the Hoan Kiem Lake at the heart of the city. This hotel is said to embody historic French elegance coupled with modern amenities.

We will stay our entire time in Laos at this peaceful and elegant hotel.

Off we go to Cambodia!-- and this flight includes lunch.

Our final 3 nights will be here at the five-star Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra whose architecture elegantly marries the best of French and Khmer style.

We have some amazing loose leaf teas and have found that this type of strainer works best both in terms of filtering the teas and cleaning up after. We have a few strainers that are for specific mugs. We'd love a couple of this type of strainer to fit our other mugs.

Purportedly, strong blues cause calm, clear thought. That's a pretty high expectation for sheets!-- but they ARE best sellers.

During dusty "break up" season and throughout the year, we're looking forward to having these bags to protect our comforters and linens.

We begin our honeymoon by boarding a roofed touring boat, which glides past floating markets and small villages. We will enjoy tropical fruits while on the river before visiting a rice candy factory and a fishing village. Finally, we're excited to nosh on a multi-course lunch at the Mekong Lodge Eco-Resort, whose island restaurant is nestled among the mango trees.

We can't wait to enjoy this global fusion dinner prepared by award-winning chefs while enjoying unparalleled views of the sprawling city of Ho Chi Minh from the 51st floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower.

We will take a motor coach to the extraordinary Cú Chi tunnels, which were used by the Viet Cong as their base of operations during the Vietnam War. There we will learn how these incredibly narrow tunnels served as living quarters, hideouts and guerilla strongholds as well as supply routes. We will also visit the War Remnants Museum and discover artifacts from the American phase of the Vietnam War, including period military equipment.

We will begin our jet setting ways as we wing to Vietnam's central coast.

We will visit Brother's Cafe in Hoi An's vibrant central market. There we will take a private cooking class and learn about the regional fresh ingredients. Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch at the Cafe under white umbrellas and leafy trees overlooking the Hoai River.

We're looking forward to seeing the lantern shops and marveling at the remarkable architecture, as we take a guided tour of the ancient village of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we'll learn to make an eye-catching Chinese lantern in a special workshop, taking home our creation as a keepsake of our adventure!

In this cluser of 5 mystical hills, we will see pagoda temples, grottoes and sanctuaries. We will also visit the main cave, which is home to a Cham Buddha, sitting under a natural shaft of light.

We'll enjoy dinner and twilight on the shores of the South China Sea.

Our next stop is Hanoi, which was once a French colonial city. As such, Hanoi fuses East and West to create a dynamic metropolis... or so we hear-- We are excited to see for ourselves!

We'll be eating lunch at this non-profit restaurant that's been changing lives in Hanoi for about 15 years. Through its training programs, KOTO—Know One, Teach One—transforms "street kids" into restaurant professionals, giving them the job skills they need to be successful, productive individuals.

Sunrise + Tai Chi were not two words that initally equaled a Lindsey "must do," as klutzy tumbles came to mind. But, when you add the words Master + Local Park to the equation, this became a can't miss stop. A Tai Chi master in a local park will give a private group lesson before breakfast, allowing us to experience how this graceful, low impact "meditation in motion" helps reduce stress and improve general health.

Onboard an electric cart for a "green" tour of ancient Hanoi, Lindsey and John will explore the bustling Old Quarter. The tour continues by coach with visits to Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House, the One-Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, with VIP access to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

Off we go to Laos! Luang Prabang in Laos is situated at the confluence of 2 rivers and nestled beneath a temple-topped hill.

Our first meal in Laos will combine fresh local ingredients in a fusion of French, Laotian and Western cuisine.

We're so lucky to be able to visit another UNESCO World Heritage site to see ornate Buddhist temples, brightly robed monks and winding pathways. We will tour the Royal Palace Museum, as well as such stunning temples as Wat Xiang Thong, Wat Mai and Wat Wisunalat.

We'll be so "hoppy" to try a variety of famous Laotian beers.

On their elegant patio, we will dine on French cuisine enhanced with traditional Laotian touches.

We will learn about (and try our hand at) all 13 stages of rice production—from planting to harvesting on a community farm. At the end of the experience, we will taste yummy treats made with rice harvested from the farm.

We will no longer be "very hungry caterpillars" after eating lunch at this park, which is dedicated to the study of Laos' butterflies.

What Wat!--this place looks like it's straight out of Indiana Jones. On a half-day excursion by tuk-tuk, we'll hear stories from local experts about the temples of the Angkor Archaeological Park that rise above the treetops. We'll begin by exploring the famed Angkor Wat—"wat" means temple—when we cross the bridge into an extraordinary world of carved murals and ornate architecture. Next, we’ll visit many other temples spread through the Cambodian jungle. We'll finish with a visit to Ta Prohm, where thick tree roots seem to melt over the ruined roofs.

Because we'll be ready to write home, we'll enjoy a casually elegant lunch of international cusine at the Foreign Correspondents' Club.

Our final honeymoon dinner will be poolside as dancers entertain us with their refined movements influenced by the asparas—half-women, half-goddesses—depicted on the walls of Angkor Wat temple.

When Lindsey taught first grade, she had a rule that students couldn't sit on top of desks until they had their Bachelor's degrees. One of her students caught another stundent sitting on top of the desk and said, "You can't sit there! You don't have your Spatular's degree." Then, there's the hand method that chefs use... but ewww egg-hands. And then there's this... Lindsey's mom had one and it seemed by far the easiest path to separating yolks and whites. This "baby bear" version of a chef's knife is perfect for Lindsey. Maybe she won't keep using steak knives to cut vegetables!

Fire Island Bakeshop makes incredible artisinal bread here in Anchorage. The artisinal bread makes incredible crumbs here in our house. This cutting board will catch said crumbs and save our sanity.

Whether it's the German steamed bread or a loaf from Fire Island, fresh bread is a frequent feature at John and Lindsey's house. Since breaking bread is more figurative than literal, having an effective bread knife is super important.

We're excited to be able to use this custom walnut ring box to hold our rings for the wedding ceremony. Our initials will be branded on the top and the date on the bottom. The box will remain a keepsake and a precious place to store the rings after the day.

John once received a manual thermometer from an investigator who was researching Arizona's jails. Lindsey used it to check the temperature on some meat... she thought the thermometer was broken; her meat was just undercooked. Whoops!- Lindsey threw the "broken" thermometer away. So, now they need a new one... and Lindsey promises not to throw it away!

This cookware set promises even, non-stick cooking. The better to cook all those amazing recipes people will be sending us!

As Quilted Northern says, "It's all in the quilting." --that always seemed weird for toilet paper. But, we are way up North and that does seem totally apropos for a quilt!
