Welcome to our registry! We kept it simple: some things for our home, and some moments from our honeymoon in Italy. At the end of the day, having you there to celebrate with us is the greatest gift of all.

Our featured fund
We're spending our honeymoon in Italy in September! This fund is for the moments we can't plan yet: the restaurant we stumble into down an unmarked alley, the extra night somewhere we can't bear to leave. Expect a postcard from us, and PLEASE send us any recommendations you have! Grazie mille!

An overnight crossing from Naples to Palermo. Just when we're starting to feel a little homesick, the ferry will remind us of what's waiting for us back in Seattle. Then we'll wake up in Sicily and remember we're not ready to go home yet.

Scent memory is something we really treasure. We intentionally choose and wear scents for special trips and occasions so we'll be able to evoke the feeling of those moments later with a single spritz. This fund is for a visit to Roman perfume house Laboratorio Olfattivo on the very first day of our trip, so we can choose scents to wear every day we're there. Years from now, the scents we pick out there will bring us right back to our honeymoon.

We have never owned a hair dryer, a fact that becomes increasingly unreasonable every November. We love an nighttime shower. We do not love going to bed with wet hair in a Seattle winter. (we chose the quietest model on the market. we did this for calcifer. he will not acknowledge this.)

For most of the year, the floor of Siena's Duomo is hidden to shield the inlaid marble artwork from foot traffic. We found out that our trip timing coincides with the few weeks of the year that the floors are unveiled. We plan to take a day trip across Tuscany to Siena to see them up close in person. After, we'll take the Duomo's Porta del Cielo tour, look down at the full masterpiece from above, and then out across the city itself from the roof of the church.

Orvieto was supposed to be a stop between trains. Then we found a Michelin Bib Gourmand trattoria that's been family-run since 1965, and suddenly our stop became four hours long to accommodate it. This funds turning a travel day into a meal we'll be talking about for a long time.

We, like many, think about the Roman Empire every day. Although, as Max would like to clarify, it's the late Roman Republic, not the Roman Empire that's our specific obsession. If we're going even more specifically, the part where Clodius got himself adopted by peasants to run for Tribune of the Plebs so he could personally exile Cicero. This funds us paying someone to put up with ALL of our highly specific questions about the fall of the Roman Republic.

Like Champagne, a Bronte pistachio can only be called a Bronte pistachio if it grew in one very specific patch of volcanic soil on the slopes of Etna. We're going to one of those farms, taking the tour, and eating a very pistachio-forward lunch there.

One of our core values is staying curious — we think the moment you stop wanting to learn things is the moment you get old. This funds hiring a volcanologist to walk us across an active volcano and explain exactly what it's doing underneath us, and what kind of rock that is, and why is it shaped like that, and how come this rock is different from that rock.

To see these 4th century mosaics, we're renting a car and spending a full day venturing across Sicily to get there. Over 3,500 square meters of intact Roman mosaic work, preserved in a remote hunting villa in the hills — plus whatever we find for lunch on the way. This covers the whole adventure.

Baia has been underwater since the 16th century — sunk by the same volcanic activity that made it the Roman elite's favorite destination for thermal baths in the first place. The mosaics are still there. The columns are still there. We will also be there, in respirators, probably gesturing wildly at each other because you can't talk underwater.

This funds a day on the water — a small boat, the Amalfi Coast unfolding around us, nowhere to be. The kind of day we'll be trying to describe to people for the rest of our lives, but some things just don't translate. We'll probably try to find a sea cave. We'll definitely find some wine.

We love visiting grocery stores when we travel — there's something about seeing what people actually eat that tells you about the current culture the way a museum tells you about its past. We're coming prepared with a list: regional cookies, picnic cheese, snacks we've never heard of. This funds our train lunch and our Italian grocery store cultural immersion experience.

Somewhere in Tuscany, someone's grandmother is still making pasta the way her grandmother taught her. This funds us learning to cook the meal we'll be attempting to recreate for the rest of our lives.
