In keeping with the Japanese theme of our wedding we would also like to follow the Japanese tradition for gifts. In Japan it is tradition to give Goshugi (Gift Money). If attending the wedding, it is customary to bring gift money in a special envelope called Goshugi-bukuro (these can be easily found in Japan as it is so common).
