Cruise around San Juan Bay in a sleek topsail schooner, enjoying canapés, beverages and some of the most iconic sights in the capital of Puerto Rico.After a short walk down the pier, you will board the Amazing Grace, a topsail schooner representative of traditional American sailing crafts used against the British in the Revolutionary War and in the War of 1812. This beautiful vessel flies seven sails that can be used in different combinations to suit the wind conditions.Following an orientation about the historical ship, you will set off on a leisurely cruise through the sparkling waters of San Juan Bay. Over the next two hours or so, you will enjoy a wonderful seaside perspective of some of the city’s key attractions, including El Morro, a National Historic site that may be the oldest Spanish-built fort in the New World, as parts of it date to 1539.You will also cruise by La Fortaleza, a former fort where Puerto Rico’s governors have resided since the mid-16th century. It has the distinction of being the oldest governor’s official residence that is still in use. UNESCO has declared La Fortaleza, together with El Morro, a World Heritage site for being a fine example of European military architecture that was adapted to harbor locales.Throughout the cruise, you will hear commentary about the ever-changing sights and scenery as you enjoy canapés and drinks.
